As many of you already know, we moved to the Portland neighborhood of West Louisville in January. We have quickly fallen in love with our new studio space as well as our welcoming neighbors. If you are planning to join us at our Open House Event this weekend, we encourage you to explore the neighborhood while you're around. To help you plan the day, we are sharing our favorite spots to visit while in West Louisville:
The Table, 1800 Portland Avenue
Caddy-corner to our dyeScape garden, stop in to enjoy locally grown fresh meals. Everyone that walks through the door is greeted & treated like family. The meatloaf or warm winter salad are always a hit.
Farm to Fork, 2425 Portland Avenue
We are excited to welcome another female business owner to the neighborhood. While she is currently offering catering services of farm-to-table fare, we hope to see a dine-in option open soon!
Over the Nine
, 120 S. 10th Street
After a day of exploring you might be looking for a beverage with a little more kick. Stop by Over the Nine and relax with a glass of locally made beer or wine.
Cup of Joy, 2507 Bank Street
McQuixote Coffee and Books
In a building formerly know as "Bank Street Bar" a space has been transformed in to a cozy cafe and coffee shop. The menu offers an assortment of pastries, baked goods, lunch items and beverages - you won't find anything priced over $5. We think the Pot Pie is a can't miss!
, 1512 Portland Avenue
Situated next to Tim Faulkner Gallery, this coffee shop offers a menu of food and beverage items ranging from high quality coffee and teas to locally sourced and homemade sandwiches and baked goods. Take a break while you sip your coffee and explore their rare and unique collection of books.
dyeScape, 1657 Portland Avenue
Visit our local project dyeScape, and urban dye garden where we grow Indigo, Marigolds, Black-Eyed Susans and other plants to be used for natural dyeing. If you're lucky, some of the plants will be in bloom when you pass by!
, 1641 Portland Avenue
Visit their newly constructed Healthy House right next door to dyeScape. Check out their events calendar
to see what they have planned while you're around.
, 1619 West Main Street
One of our favorite art galleries in the area, 1619 Flux focus on using creative expression as a catalyst for social activism and change.
Don't miss their 1-year anniversary party
on April 15th that will be open to the public.
Tim Faulkner, 1512 Portland Avenue
With our coffee from McQuixote in hand, stroll around the Tim Faulkner art gallery. Check out their events page for upcoming shows and exhibits.
We'd love to hear what you think about our new neighborhood and your favorite place to visit!
