Care FAQ

Do I have to dry clean my Anchal products?

We recommend dry cleaning for many of our organic cotton pieces to preserve their handcrafted nature and intricate stitched details. If you prefer machine washing, use cold water and mild detergent on a gentle cycle to protect the hand-stitched elements. For drying, you can either tumble dry on low heat or opt for air drying as a more eco-friendly choice. Once dry, if needed, use a warm iron to smooth out any wrinkles.

How do I spot clean?

For our bags and stuffed animals, we do not recommend machine washing. Dampen the dirty area with cold water using a clean cloth. Leave the spot damp for 10-15 minutes and gently blot with a dry cloth from both sides to draw out the stain.

How do I best care for vintage fabrics?

Our vintage items are meticulously handcrafted from vintage cotton and silk saris. Due to the age of these materials, you may notice charming signs of wear or patchwork that enhance their unique appeal.

For pieces crafted from vintage cotton saris, we suggest machine washing on a gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent to protect the hand-stitched details. A warm iron can be used to smooth out any wrinkles if needed.

For items made from vintage silk saris, we recommend dry cleaning to best preserve their quality. If you prefer to hand wash your silk Anchal pieces, do so gently in cold water with a mild detergent. After washing, hang dry or lay flat, and use a warm iron to remove any wrinkles, if desired.
