Colleen Clines: Co-Founder & CEO
Colleen values how design can become the tool for sustainable solutions to gender inequality, social injustice and environmental degradation. She combines this passion as a social entrepreneur and impact designer through her work at Anchal. Colleen leads the overall strategic and operational planning for Anchal’s programs, partnerships, expansion and execution of its mission.
A Louisville native with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Kentucky, Colleen earned her Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). In 2013, she was named one of Public Interest Design's Top Global 100 designers.
Maggie Clines: Vice President & Creative Director
As Creative Director, Maggie spearheads Anchal's design aesthetic and product development. Responsible for visually communicating Anchal's story through creative content, Maggie has successfully developed, designed, and grown Anchal’s brand into an internationally recognized organization. Maggie passionately manages Anchal's production & product design oversight, allowing for the success of multiple small run custom collaborations & innovative design solutions.
Maggie holds a B.A. in Architecture from the University of Kentucky & shares Anchal's belief that design can be the catalyst for social innovation, and education is the first step to creating positive change. Her drive for social impact started at young age & guided her through design school. Maggie has shared Anchal's unique business model as a keynote speaker at gatherings including the Fair Trade Federation National Conference and NY NOW but find most joy inspiring youth to make a difference by speaking at local high schools & KY Governors School for the Arts.
Amy Rader: Anchal Sales & Account Manager
Amy graduated from Loyola New Orleans with a B.A in Marketing. After school, she moved to Nashville to pursue a career in software sales and later medical equipment sales but after a while she found herself feeling unfulfilled. She moved to Louisville and found her calling at The Anchal Project. As the Sales and Account Manager, she focuses on cultivating and curating wholesale relationships. Spreading Anchal's mission and beautiful designs with the goal to employ more artisans. She loves the ability to combine her talent for sales, love for fashion and passion for empowering women.
Ashleigh Bakken: Operations Coordinator
Ashleigh graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles earning an A.A. in Merchandise Marketing with a concentration in fashion buying. After working in fast-fashion for most of her career, she became passionate about spreading awareness on the importance of sustainability and transparency in the textile clothing industry. As Anchal’s Operations Coordinator, she handles inventory and e-commerce management as well as all customer relations. Ashleigh is a vintage clothing enthusiast and in her free time, she enjoys long runs in the park.
Brent Drew-Wolak: Dyescape Coordinator
Brent graduated from Columbia College Chicago, where she earned a B.A. in fashion business with a concentration in textiles and fashion design. Her work is centered around quality, craftsmanship, and sustainability. With experience in fiber art and natural dyes, Brent strives to connect consumers to the process of creating handmade and locally sourced textiles. She has exhibited her designs in KMAC Couture: Art Walks the Runway and has also been featured in StyleBlueprint and The Voice Tribune for her work as a textile artist. As the DyeScape coordinator, Brent manages the Louisville based initiative and helps to empower women and promote a sustainable textile system.
Jaimala Gupta: Vatsalya Co-Founder
Jaimala is co-founder of Vatsalya, an NGO established for the rehabilitation of Street Children in Jaipur, as well as Anoothi, an organization which benefits rural women living in poverty and the Vatsalya Children's Village. She has done post graduation in food and nutrition and Master in Public health from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. She worked at the Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur for 12 years (1988 to 2000) in different capacities. She is visionary, mentor and guide to all in Vatsalya and has been closely working with orphaned and abandoned children.
