Limited-Edition: Anchal x Brooklinen

We are thrilled to finally announce Anchal’s limited-edition collaboration with Brooklinen! The Brooklinen x Anchal Collection is a small batch of handcrafted, custom-made quilted bedding, throws and pillows designed and created by Anchal’s artisans exclusively for the Brooklyn based luxury linens company. The pieces blend our signature contemporary quilting techniques and the Brooklinen minimalist aesthetic, resulting in a museum-worthy yet functional decor that calms and comforts.

An Unconventional Process

Last August, we met the dynamic Brooklinen team during the Shoppe Object trade show. Early conversations and shared passions for modern home decor quickly led to exciting plans for a creative collaboration and we got busy sketching. The designs highlight our signature geometric patchwork and directional stitch patterns, combined with new trios of soothing colors.

Once we received the samples in January, our production plan was set and the delivery date estimated for May. However everything soon came to a halt as uncertainty grew February, the “stay at home” orders were given in March, and the nationwide lockdown in India followed. While our workshop in Ajmer was temporarily closed during the lockdown, we continuously strategized ways to support the artisans financially during the pandemic while safely completing the order once restrictions lifted.

Luckily with the warm encouragement from Brooklinen and the dedication of our artisans this special collaboration was possible to create and release in August 2020. Each piece created for the Brooklinen collection played a significant role in providing work and income for Anchal’s female artisans during the COVID-19 pandemic, as they could work on the textiles from home during the lockdown and complete them safely at the workshop once regulations slowly shifted.

We are incredibly proud of our team for pulling this off during these unprecedented times. Congratulations to our Project Director, Shefali, our Project Manager, Roopdas, 13 Project Assistants, the 48 artisans who hand quilted each piece, and our small team of 5 here in Louisville, KY. The strength and courage of each team member have led to a beautiful partnership in more ways than one! Brooklinen’s support gave all of us the drive and courage during these past few months and for that, we are eternally grateful.⠀ ⠀
