Anchal is launching a new satellite artisan workshop an hour bus ride from Anchal’s Headquarters in an area known for high levels of sex trafficking in Ajmer, India. The workshop’s aim is to provide a skills training program and career opportunities with Anchal to women living in the neighborhood.
The new training program will offer training in kantha stitching, tailoring, and machine stitching to some of the most vulnerable and marginalized women in the city. The 10 trainees will also be offered leadership training workshops that develop self-esteem, self-confidence, and financial literacy. In addition, this satellite location will distribute work to artisans in the neighborhood and act as a safe haven with resources to counseling and health care from our partner organization Vatsalya. Once the 8-month training is completed, the artisans will be offered full-time positions with the project assistant team.
Our partner, Vatsalya, recently lost its grant funding and we are reaching out to our community today to help fund this critical program before the program ends next month.
We are hosting a week-long digital campaign to raise $9,000 that will fund this program for 1 year.
Will you join this campaign to raise critical funds for Anchal's new satellite training program?
