Today we're celebrating the 4th Annual Anchal Project Day! Four years ago, The Louisville Metro Council declared October 16 as Anchal Project day, the same day as our Anchal Project X Urban Outfitters Launch Party.
Co-Founder & CEO, Colleen Clines, along with her sister, Anchal Creative Director Maggie Clines, were recognized as Outstanding Citizens of the Day for their tremendous work to empower exploited women around the world through design. At the time, over 100 women has been trained through Anchal project - today that number has doubled to over 200! The work is far from over, but the impact can be seen.
Today is a day for us to honor our talented artisans, our loyal customers and to celebrate the positive change we're are making as a collective. Celebrate with us and read the official proclamation given to Anchal Project to learn more about what this day means:

and Colleen Clines and Maggie Clines as Outstanding Citizens of the Day
Whereas, Colleen Clines graduated from the Rhode Island School of Designin 2009 and chose to use her education in design to effect social change;
Whereas, Colleen Clines chose to effect that change in India where women are often part of a dehumanizing human trafficking business;
Whereas, following graduation, Colleen Clines was determined to continue to pursue her dream of the Anchal Project and soon convinced her sister, Maggie, to join her and take over the marketing responsibilities;
Whereas, the Anchal Project has been recognized for excellence by the recent contractual arrangement with Urban Outfitters;
We hereby confer this honor with all the rights, privileges and responsibilities thereunto appertaining. In testimony whereof, we have caused these letters to be made, and the seal of the Metro Government to be hereunto affixed. " -Signed by Kelly Downard, Sixteenth District Councilman
