Holi is a much anticipated festival in the Hindu religion. Celebrated the day after the last full moon of of the lunar month Phalguna, it signifies the transition from dark, cold winter to bright, warm spring. This year, Holi is celebrated on Thursday, March 24 with excitement by Hindus across the globe.
Traditionally, Holi festivities begin on the eve of the festival with bonfires, prayers, storytelling and gift-giving. On the day of Holi, millions of people in India fill the streets and cover each other in powder dye while chanting "Happy Holi!"
